It started with a spark that turned into an idea that changed the world of kitchen design as we know it. In just two years, that concept has grown into the world’s first robotic chef and intelligent RFID-enhanced IoT kitchen system.

Our history
Mark Oleynik's idea
Moley Robotics was founded in 2014 by London-based computer scientist, robotics and healthcare innovator Dr. Mark Oleynik. Mark Oleynik is the CEO of the company.
First patents filed
Two highly complex, fully articulated hands comprise the kitchen’s enabling technology. With ability to faithfully reproduce the movements of a human hand, they give the Kitchen the capability to cook anything a human chef can. This goes to the heart of the design philosophy underpinning this technology.
Moley team builds Prototype
The prototype was premiered to widespread acclaim at Hanover Messe, the international robotics show.
Prototype wins “Best of the Best" CES Shanghai
In May 2015, the Robotic Kitchen won the "Best of the Best" CES Shanghai award in China.
Technology development and establishing partnership with world-leading companies in robotic technology and kitchen design.
Moley team builds Prototype
Development of the unique anthropomorphic robotic hand by SCHUNK – our Exclusive Hand Partner.
Establishing of partnership with a number of kitchen experts and interior designers in different parts of the world to ensure we can deliver bespoke kitchens, suited to a range of different cultural and cuisine requirements.
Integration with kitchen appliances and automatic kitchen mechanisms from the world leading producers in terms of control and use of kitchen appliances and mechanisms by the robot
Company completed pre-production A-model development
The Moley Robotic kitchen is complete with all the necessary cabinetry, appliances, utensils, computing and robotic systems, and start certification and testing procedures. Moley Robotic kitchen goes to market.

Moley Robotics aims to improve our quality of life and health by combining innovative technology and nutrition in every home and commercial institution.

Our goal is to help people enjoy homemade freshly-cooked food easily, by providing a solution that cooks for you when you’re busy. The Moley kitchen allows you to take control of your diet, limit the barriers to healthy eating, and enjoy gourmet freshly cooked food every day.

We aim to connect chefs and consumers/people, giving them access to the library of a library of globally inspired, regularly updated recipes.

Our mission is to make cooking more ecological by optimizing the use of time and technology and minimizing waste and CO2 emissions. Meanwhile, we seek to create a safer culinary environment and reduce the risk of food contamination by facilitating limited contact during food preparation and the integrated disinfection of work surfaces prevents accidents. This has become even more important during the pandemic.

Our ultimate goal is to design a robotic kitchen that can be delivered to the mass market at an affordable price.

We accelerate the development of the robotics industry, bringing the future closer together with our customers, upgrading the production together with our partners, and, ultimately, making robotic assistants available and affordable to everyone.

Moley Robotics is a proven innovator, bringing new robotic technologies to the market, transforming the cooking process, and making our lives easier and healthier.

The main philosophy behind our robotic kitchen is providing total freedom for individuals when preparing their food. We invented the concept of the robotic kitchen and protected it with our large patent portfolio, which is continuously updating.

A talented team of more than 100 engineers, from a variety of world-class robotics companies and supported by a team of interior and kitchen designers, have made the concept of the robotic kitchen a reality ahead of time.

Our founder

This has been Oleynik’s driving purpose since he founded Moley Robotics company in 2014; to bring science, technology, design and innovation together and develop the world’s first robotic kitchen.

Oleynik is a computer scientist with a background in healthcare innovation. Having completed a Masters in Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Economics at St Petersburg University, as well as an MA in Business Innovation in Global Healthcare at Harvard Business School, Oleynik’s career began when he was appointed Director of Automation at the engineering services company that implemented automation systems at the NPO Sverdlov Plant in Russia.

In 1993 he co-founded the WN Medical Company in Luxembourg, at which he was the chief coordinator on phase two clinical trials for anti-AIDS medication. Following successful trials, the medication was delivered to the pharmaceutical market.

Later Oleynik became co-founder and Managing Director of the St Petersburg branch of the European Institute for Research and Development of Transplantation.

Here, he was one of the initiators of the Bone Marrow Transplant Russian-German Centre - the first institution to work with allogenic bone marrow transplants for the first time in Russia. The project was completed in 2000, having raised approximately $4.5m in investment funds. For the first time in Russia, this gave thousands of adults and children with leukemia a chance at recovery.

Its success led to his next role as Vice-Rector at the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University where Oleynik was a one of initiator and General Project Manager in establishing the Institute of Paediatric Oncology and Transplantation RM Gorbachevoi. Since 2014 Mark invented and together with his international team have started to develop the first robotic kitchen in the world – Moley Robotic kitchen. After more than 5 years of development the project was successfully completed and the Moley robotic kitchen launched on the market in 2020.
